Joey D’s Chicago Style Eatery & Pizzeria, has opened a new location in Venice. Successful locations in Sarasota, Bradenton, and Palmetto have inspired this new venture.

When you walk into a Joey D’s Restaurant, you instantly sense the energy of the ownership and their desire to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is casual and family-friendly. You are surrounded by a fascinating collection of sports memorabilia and see delicious food being delivered to tables of hungry customers who have come to love Joey’s Chicago-style cuisine such as authentic stuffed pizza, Chicago Vienna Beef hot dogs and Italian beef served “dry, juicy or wet.”

“We knew we wanted to open a location further south,” said Joey D’s owner Anthony Santangelo, in a statement. “There are a lot of Midwesterners who come to Venice and we had tons of people asking when we’d open there — including some who live in Venice and have been traveling up to our Sarasota location.”

The newest Joey D’s is at 750 U.S. Bypass 41 North in Venice.

This is a free-standing restaurant in Bay Plaza that was previously home to Pavilion Grill, which relocated in August 2018. Joey D’s is known for its great locations and this particular restaurant is no exceptionless than three miles from Venice Beach and features excellent visibility from Tamiami Trail.

“Besides the nice location, the property is in great shape and only needed some aesthetic changes,” Santangelo said. “We painted the entire exterior and brought all our Chicago memorabilia inside.”

This location opened in September 2019 and won Best of Venice in 2020.
